First Hawaiian Bank to activate online checking accounts

First Hawaiian Bank has launched the FHB Direct service that enables customers to open a free checking account online without going into a bank branch. Customers may also sign up for FHB Online free service that allows them to handle their banking accounts online.

Via this option, clients can transfer and check loan and deposit balances, monitor their ATM and credit card transactions and view and print copies of their cancelled checks and checking account statements online. A bill payment option is also available.

"FHB Direct and FHB Online are part of First Hawaiian's commitment to provide the most advanced online banking solutions for our customers," states Don Horner, president and chief executive officer of First Hawaiian Bank.

First Hawaiian also provides eStatements and CheckImage services that offer customers online access to their account statements and images of cleared checks. First Hawaiian has activated the Approval in Seconds automated online credit application option as well.
