Thomson Reuters buys electronic billing provider Serengeti Law

Bellevue-based Serengeti Law, which provides electronic billing services to more than 300 corporate customers and more than 21,000 law firms throughout the world, has been sold in a deal of undisclosed size to Thomson Reuters. Serengeti's 50 employees in the Seattle and Chicago metro areas will join Thomson Reuters as part of the deal.

The business will be combined with Thomson Reuters' corporate, government and academic business, with Serengeti's Tom Melling, the former vice president of product management, serving as president of the new unit.
