liaison Liaison Technologies Oy and Nordea have entered into an electronic
invoicing gateway agreement in Finland. The electronic billing and
payment of both Nordea and Liaison's corporate and consumer clients will
be improved when the practices are standardized. The agreement is a
significant improvement towards a more flexible approach that aims to
simplify and streamline the implementation of electronic invoicing
process.
Liaison, which focuses on integrating information systems between companies and information management, is a major e-invoicing operator in Finland. Through the partnership, Nordea will gain access to Liaison's clients and partners.
Liaison's clients include financial management solution providers, through which a large number of small and medium-sized companies can access Nordea's electronic payment services without changing their systems or practices.
"The partnership is a significant step for both sides. The next great leap in electronic invoicing will be achieved by standardizing and streamlining the processes. As Northern Europe's leading bank, Nordea plays a very special role in this," says Juhani Sormanen, Executive Vice President of Liaison Technologies Oy.
Bank web billing services can be used either through bank connection software or online banking. They do not convert the invoice data to different message formats, but only convey the electronic invoices between banks in the agreed upon format.
Banks and e-invoicing operators working as intermediaries make gateway agreements under which they submit an e-invoice together from the sender to the recipient. The operator converts an electronic invoice message format to a format understandable by the receiving system.
E-invoicing operators often offer web invoicing services used through internet browsers, which can be merged into a financial management program. Through the use of these, the sender and recipient do not need to make changes to their systems. |
