Islanders can now receive their electricity bills and statements by e-mail. Jersey Electricity is offering the new service to all domestic
customers, who currently receive paper ones, as part of its long-term
environmental strategy.
E-billing is convenient for customers and benefits the environment in
two ways. With almost 40,000 customers eligible, not only will Jersey
Electricity vastly reduce its use of paper, the company has also pledged
£5 to Jersey Trees for Life for every customer who switches from paper
to e-bills and statements. The move comes after a successful pilot
scheme in which over 400 customers made the switch, enabling Jersey
Electricity to make a £2,000 donation to the charity.
'We have been delighted by the number of our customers who have embraced the scheme so far,' said Jersey Electricity's Marketing Manager Nigel Ricou. 'In a bid to increase take-up, we are including an information leaflet with all paper bills and statements currently going out. It's simple to sign up. Customers can either e-mail us at

'This development is the latest enhancement to our online services which enable customers to interact with us quickly, conveniently and securely, whether they wish to give us a meter reading, notice of change of address or pay a bill. Our Customer Care team is still just a phone call away to offer help and advice when needed but our online presence enables us to speed up and simplify many of our services for those who want to use it.'
'Sustainability is one of our core values as a business. By offering e-billing we will reduce the amount of paper we use every day and both our customers and the environment benefit,' added Nigel. |
