VeriSign, a trusted provider of Internet infrastructure services, has announced the deployment of VeriSign Extended Validation (EV) Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Certificates by E-Billing Solutions (EBS). E-Billing is one of the leading payment gateways in India. With the deployment of EV SSL Certificates online merchants and their customers can offer immediate and visible assurance when transacting online. E-Billing Solutions has deployed VeriSign Extended Validation (EV) Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Certificates to provide consumers with visual assurance against online fraudulent activity by providing third-party verification of its Web site's authenticity.

According to EBS, Indian consumers are showing a shift from traditional modes of payment to the advanced payment modes online. However, online security is still a cause of concern for consumers while transacting on the Internet today. EBS' intentions are to allow site visitors to trust that their information is being handled securely.

How this Works
An EV SSL Certificate displays visual cues in EV-enabled high-security browsers to provide assurances of a Web site's authenticity. The browser address bar turns green and a new field appears to the right of the URL. This field contains the name of the organization that owns the site as well as the security provider that issued the certificate, such as VeriSign. This has been facilitated by VeriSign's Platinum Partner, Adweb Technologies.

E-Billing Solutions has now joined the worldwide community of sites using EV SSL to provide their customers with a safer online experience.
