These days, more and more smart business owners are implementing more environmentally conscious strategies into the way they do business. Naturally, there are many reasons to go green (pun intended) and many consumers are more likely to choose a vendor based on the choice to go green.

The Electronic Payments Association announced today that it is partnering with The Clearing House to bring the Electronic Billing Information Delivery Service (EBIDS), an Automated Clearing House (ACH) Network bill presentment and payment solution, to market. EBIDS has been a NACHA pilot program since 2008, operated by the Federal Reserve Banks.

Electronic messaging specialist, Striata, is urging digital marketers to familiarise themselves with the new Consumer Protection Act (CPA). “With only a couple months to go until this Act is passed into law, electronic marketers should not delay taking the necessary steps to ensure that their digital marketing activity complies,” advises Alison Treadaway, MD Striata SA.

An electronic bill-payment and presentment network put together by NACHA, the governing body of the automated clearing house, is seeking an organization that can help build out the system and give it marketing firepower. Rob Unger, senior director of e-billing and payments at Herndon, Va.-based NACHA, says the association issued a request for proposals last fall and hopes to announce the partner, along with definitive blueprints for the new payment system, some time in the second quarter.
