Leading utilities supplier Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) has embarked on an innovative e-communications strategy to enhancecustomer service for its users. Following on from a very successful project to implement a new e-billing system, the company decided to replicate the self-service work for its domestic customers. Working with Microsoft® Gold Certified Partner Meridio, SSE overhauled its Web infrastructure and implemented Meridio 4.2 in addition to Microsoft Windows ServerTM 2003 and Microsoft SQL ServerTM 2000. The new site, http://www.southernelectric. co.uk/EBilling/Default.aspx , provides online bill viewing and payment options. Customers benefit from an average user response time of less than five seconds and SSE benefits from a scalable solution that is capable of indexing some 28 million documents annually.

ABSA implemented Striata’s highly secure and easy to use eStatement and eContact solutions with the aim of reducing costs and improving efficiencies, as well as customer service levels - much to the delight of their credit card & vehicle finance customers, policy holders & brokers.

Striata’s solutions successfully met ABSA’s requirements - internal efficiencies have been improved since the implementation, as documentation sent can now be tracked and all inbound emails managed effectively.

Arcor / SAP Customer Success Story

This new era dawned at the end of 2000, when management implemented a strategy to help Arcor become more customer oriented, while reducing billing costs. To do this, the company integrated electronic billing in its Arcor-Online Power product, establishing it as a true leader in EBPP. The company has already reached its first milestone, with more than 150,000 customers using the company’s online service, Arcor WebBill. In the near future, Arcor intends to switch over most of it’s million customers — of which 3 million are contract customers — to electronic billing.
